Here's John Kerry speaking at New York University on September 20th, opining on the Bush administration's contention before the Iraq war that Saddam Hussein posed a threat to the U.S.: "We now know that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and posed no imminent threat to our security."
Here's a Kerry spokesman just yesterday, regarding the revelation that tons of deadly weapons have gone missing from Iraq since the war: "How did they fail to secure ... tons of known, deadly explosives despite clear warnings from the International Atomic Energy Agency to do so?"
It's a fine pickle, isn't it, to be shouting from the rooftops one week that Iraq never had any weapons of mass destruction, only to discover that a whole passel of them were stolen from Iraqi armories and laboratories. Do you think the Dems will pause a half second to give President Bush his due before issuing charges of negligence?
Of course not. If one is capable of maintaining the cognitive dissonance that is the hallmark of the modern American liberal, this is just gravy. Bush is to be condemned because there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and he is to be condemned for losing them. Get it?
